Dancenjoy App Privacy Policy

Dancenjoy (“we”, “us”) runs Latin dance classes and dance nights in Western Massachusetts. This policy explains what the Dancenjoy app does and does not collect. The short version: the app has no accounts, the app doesn’t ask for your name or email, and we don’t sell or share your information.
What the app collects
Notification address (push token). If you allow notifications, your phone gives us a random address that lets us send you notifications through Apple’s (iPhone) or Google’s (Android) notification service. We store this address, together with your two choices (“New event announcements” and “Weekly schedule digest”), so we know whether to send you those. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or location.
Settings saved on your phone. Your reminder choices for each class or event stay on your phone. Class reminders are scheduled on your phone itself and never leave it.
What the app does not collect
- No name, email address, phone number or account.
- No location.
- No contacts, photos or microphone access.
- No advertising or tracking, and no analytics.
Calendar
If you tap Add to Calendar, the app opens your phone’s own “Add Event” screen filled in with the event details. Nothing is added unless you tap Add, and we do not read your calendar.
Our website and free course
The app includes a link to our free Salsa Mini Course, which is hosted on our website, dancenjoy.org. If you choose to join, you sign up on the website with your email address and a password. That signup is handled by our website provider (Kajabi), not by the app, and the app never sees your email or password. Information you give on the website is covered by our website’s own privacy practices.
Who handles the data
We use these services to run the app. They process data on our behalf and only for that purpose:
- Supabase, which hosts our event information and the notification addresses described above.
- Expo, which delivers push notifications.
- Apple (iPhone) and Google (Android), whose notification services carry the notification to your phone.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else, except if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your notification address until you delete the app or ask us to remove it. If you turn off both notification options, we keep the address but send it nothing. If your phone stops accepting notifications, we remove its address automatically.
Your choices
- Turn notifications off in the app’s Alerts tab, or in your phone’s Settings.
- Delete the app to stop all notifications.
- Ask us to delete your notification address by emailing the address below. Because the address isn’t linked to your name, please tell us roughly when you installed the app so we can help, or simply delete the app, which stops all messages.
Delete your account and data
Free course account. If you signed up for our free Salsa Mini Course on dancenjoy.org, you can ask us to delete that account. Email [email protected] from the email address you signed up with, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will delete your course account and the information connected to it (your name, email address and course progress), within 30 days, and reply to confirm when it is done.
App notification address. The app itself has no account. To remove your notification address, delete the app, or email us as described under “Your choices” above.
We may keep a record of a purchase or a message if the law requires it.
Children
The app is a class and event schedule and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
