“There are shortcuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.” — Vicki Baum

McCoy Jamison

Dancenjoy is the creation of internationally trained dancer, choreographer,DJ and percussionist, whose mission is simple: to help people experience joy, connection, and confidence through Latin dance.

McCoy discovered dance while living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he trained intensively at the world-renowned Jaime Arôxa Academy. His journey continued through the U.S. and Cuba, studying a wide range of Latin and African social dance styles, including Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, and Merengue.

In addition to teaching and DJing, McCoy brings a unique energy to his events by playing live percussion, including congas and bongos. Though still early in his musical journey, his passion for rhythm and live expression is infectious — and he’s committed to integrating more live music into every Dancenjoy experience.

Over the years, McCoy has become a trusted dance educator and event organizer in the community, hosting weekly dance nights and teaching hundreds of people how to find freedom and rhythm on the dance floor. Whether you're stepping into a beginner class, dancing at one of his DJ+drumming events, or learning from his online lessons, you’re invited to feel good, connect deeply, and Dancenjoy.

When he’s not moving to the music, you’ll find McCoy cooking flavorful dishes, designing creative projects, or spending time with his two vibrant sons.

Jessie Cooley

Jessie Cooley learned to love Latin dance early in life, and since then she has traveled throughout the U.S. and Latin America learning various dance styles including salsa, bachata and merengue. She sees the positive impact of dance on our minds, bodies and spirits and loves sharing this joy with others, whether they are new or experienced Latin dancers. Jessie’s background as a social justice educator intersects with her love of dance, as she enjoys creating inclusive spaces where people of all identities can connect, feel welcome and learn together. For Dancenjoy, Jessie provides dance instruction, strategic planning, community outreach, and sparkles! When she’s not dancing, she is working as a legislative staffer, relaxing with family and friends, listening to podcasts, enjoying nature, and playing her most important role as adoring Auntie.
